Rehearsals
We rehearse on Wednesday nights from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Market Deeping Community Primary School, Market Deeping (map).
We work hard, but rehearsals are enjoyable and fun. We ask that members commit to regular attendance (75% each term prior to a concert). This maintains high levels of performance and speeds up the learning of new music.
Join Us
We welcome new members to the choir, especially tenors and basses. We would prefer you to have some singing experience which helps learning both current and new music.
Auditions
After three weeks' attendance, we ask that you complete a simple audition; for example, a piece of music you already know, or some verses from a hymn. This is to ensure that you are singing in tune and are in the correct section of the choir.
Subs, Music and Folders
Following your audition, you will be asked to pay a subscription as a member of the choir. This is currently £60 per year (pro rata), paid in September.
Music can be borrowed or bought from the choir. We ask that if you borrow music, you take good care of it and return it promptly after a concert or at the beginning/end of a term. Lost music will incur a charge to replace it.
Folders for use at concerts can be obtained for a small deposit of £5 refunded (on return) if you leave the choir. |
