About us

Glebe Singers was formed in 1999 and currently has around 40 members. The aims of Musical Director Sara Woolhouse and Chairman David Scoffield are for all choir members to enjoy their singing and to increase awareness of choral music to all members of the community. In the last 10 years, Glebe Singers have sung in many local churches and venues in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire and have also been involved with local and national initiatives designed to raise the profile of choral music. In 2009 Glebe Singers entered the Peterborough Music Festival and won both the Mary Wakefield Medal for performance by mixed choirs and the Patrick Watson Trophy for Best Performance in adult choral classes. Glebe Singers have also sung for a number of local and national charities, including Age Concern, Cancer Research, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Willoughby School, Bourne.

The choir usually performs three concerts a year and features a wide range of music, from sacred works to songs from the shows, spirituals and folk music.
